In the late 1980's, a hopeful ska group calling themselves No Doubt began. One of the band's
founder had a sister named Gwen, who later joined the group in the 1990's. They weren't very big, until
their third album was released. Even then, the album languished for over a year until the release
of the single Don't Speak, which, being more tragic rock/pop than ska, skyrocketed the
group to super stardom on the backbone of Gwen's anguished singing style and heartfelt lyrics based on
her former relationship. With a pretty face and trippy
attitude, male fans quickly followed and love blossomed again for the woman who made her
depression, a source of success and joy for her band and millions of music lovers.
