What is Famousbabes.com?
Famousbabes.com - The Babes Paradise, was a project started by Gerco. Over the years
it has grown to house one of the largest collection of celebrity pictures, as well
as providing links to sites devoted to a person's favourite female celebrity. You would
expect a site with so much diversity to have a limited gallery, but our galleries rival
those of individual fansites. Many times we will have more and better pictures than
some of those fansites.
Where are the male celebrities?
Currently, Famousbabes.com features only female celebrities. If you want male celebrities,
check out famousdudes.com.
Where are the nude pictures?
If you haven't figured out by now, famousbabes.com is not a nude celebrity site. We feature
a large collection of celebrity pictures and links suitable for all audiences the majority of the time.
If you want nude celebrity pictures, I suggest you check out, Celebritybabes.com.
Will famousbabes.com ever feature nude celebrities? Well, just wait and see!
Do you know any of the celebrities personally?
Unfortunately, Famousbabes.com is a fan site much like every other fansite. It was made
out of appreciation for the celebrities' talent and beauty. We are not affiliated with any
celebrity in any way. In almost all cases, we have no way of contacting a celebrity personally
and we are not the celebrities themselves.
How can I contact my favourite celebrity?
Definitely not through us. You can start by finding the celebrity's official fanclub (if it
exists). They might have an address you can send your comments/love letters/hate mail to.
Another way is to contact the production company that produces the tv show/movie/album
the celebrity is featured in. They almost always have a staff that handles fan letters and
filters them appropriately. You can also try contacting the celebrity's agent or agencies
for more info. Rarely will you be given a celebrity's home address. Fan letter is usually
received by the celebrity's mail staff first.
Where is <fill in name here>?
If the celebrity you are looking for is not listed, it is usually because of the
lack of popularity. If there are insufficient pictures/information/fansites devoted to
her, then she cannot be added at the present time. For celebrities such as
Alyssa Milano, Kathy Ireland, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Natalie Portman, we do not
feature them out of their request not to be added on the listing.
Site Addition
Where do you find these sites?
When I add a new celebrity, I use all the search engines to comb the net for sites. When
I find a fairly updated and well informed website, I then check their link section because
they usually contain all the known fansites devoted to that particular celebrity.
How can I submit my site?
If you have a website devoted to a particular celebrity you'd like to submit, go to
the Add link page to submit your website, or the section of your website devoted
to the celebrity, not your personal homepage or your mainpage. Once submitted and approved,
your site will immediately be listed. Because Famousbabes.com is providing you with lots of
new traffic, it would be appreciated if you could return the favour by placing a reciprocal link
back to famousbabes.com's main page anywhere on your site, either as a text link or banner link.
Banner information is available at the banners page.
What are the qualifications?
Take note, this is important. To qualify, your site must have the following general characteristics:
1. is celebrity related, not just a personal homepage or a business that has nothing to do with celebrities.
2. contains a good number of pictures. 10+ per celebrity
3. must not be a website full of false links and no real content. I am an experienced webmaster and
review websites with a microscope. Don't think javascripted links can fool me. I'll look into your
html code if I find something suspicious.
4. design should be organized and links, text, pictures placed coherently and not like a bad
idea of abstract art.
5. advertisement, especially adult advertisement, should be kept to a minimum. The focus is the celebrity, not
the advertisement. If your website is on one of those free webspaces like Geocities or
Xoom, you're not supposed to have advertisement except the free webhosts' ads! Read your
terms and conditions for clarification of which ads you can put up.
6. Your website must not crash my browser! I review all websites using Netscape Navigator because
it doesn't do auto-error correction like Internet Explorer does. When Netscape crashes, it might have
been caused by a conflict with one of the other programs I also have opened. If I visit your website and my
browser crashes, I will reboot my computer, open Netscape and visit your website again without any other
programs running. If your website still crashes my Netscape, I cannot add your website.
Common website causes for Netscape crashes are:
a) Bad Java applets or too many java applets
b) over large and cluttered html code with huge graphic files loaded
c) too much javascript
Many adult sponsorship programs use hideous javascript that opens multiple windows and resizes the
browser. Please don't use this. About 9 out of 10 times I visit these sites, my browser crashes. Even if my
browser doesn't crash, you have already hindered your chance of addition by having the code in the first place.
EVEN IF YOU CAN SEND ME THOUSANDS OF HITS BACK, I WILL NOT EVEN CONSIDER YOUR WEBSITE IF IT IS
NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF GARBAGE.
If this sounds strict, it's because it has to be. My visitors deserve better.
7. Fan sites should not contain any adult banner advertisement. If there are adult banners, your site
will be listed under multiple-celebrity sites because it is clear that your objectives are for profit and
not as a tribute. Excuses such as, to host adult content, is not acceptable because there is plenty of non-adult
material available for all the celebrities featured on famousbabes.
8. no forced javascripts such as forced voting.
9. No sites that require registration of any kind. A fansite has no need of registration.
10. no window resizing. This is just as bad as the java popups because the window often gets expanded
to cover the whole screen, blocking out the taskbars, etc.
11. important: you absolutely can't link directly to our content and steal our bandwidth. Nor may you lift
elements of our design and graphics and use them on your website without proper acknowledgement and consultation beforehand.
How are sites rated?
Sites are rated and listed according to the following criterias in order of importance:
1. number of pictures of the particular celebrity
2. design
3. links and number of hits back to us
4. overall content and status (ie, an official site)
In addition, sites with negligible content and non-working sections will not be rated, and
therefore not listed. Webmasters are usually informed exactly why their sites have not been added.
Websites with exceptional content or design will be given extra consideration. For example, you might
not have a lot of pictures, but if your design is incredible, I'll give you a better rating.
Alternatively, if your website does restrictive things like preventing people from downloading pictures via
javascript (disabling right-clicking) for example, you will get a significantly lower rating.
You sent me a reply, but your site hasn't been updated. Why not?
All things take time. I go through all the emails and add new content before I upload the
site. Sometimes you will receive the response email before I finish my update. But rest assured
that your site has been added and will be listed shortly.
Why didn't I qualify?
You didn't qualify because your website didn't meet the minimal guidelines. You should
have received an email detailing the reason.
What if I don't want my site listed?
Then please tell me of your decision. Although site addition will
benefit you, I understand that you might have objections to the listing. I won't bother you asking for
reasons. I will promptly remove your site from the listing, no questions asked. But I do wish you
the best of luck on your website for the future.
What if I have a website devoted to multiple celebrities?
If you have a website devoted to more than one celebrity, I will add a link to your site
under a maximum of 5 celebrity listings. Let's say you have a website devoted to: Jenny
McCarthy, Pamela Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and
Amber Valetta. Your individual sections will be added under the appropriate listing, ie. your
Cindy Crawford section will be added to the Cindy Crawford listing. But only a
maximum of 5 of your sections will be listed. To add your site, go to the
add link page, fill in the appropriate details, and tell me the
5 sections you'd like to be listed under. As always, your individual sections are treated
like individual websites and must meet the minimum guidelines before addition. This
number is also subjective, meaning I might add more or less, depending on the quality of
your sections. Your listing will also go under the Multiple-celebrity sites heading
for the particular celebrities to differentiate your site from regular fan sites.
OR if you don't want your site link to 5 sections only and your site has more than 50 celebrities(or focused on a
particular subject such as Lingerie, celebs in swimsuits, Bond girls), you can be
added to the OTHER SITES section, where a link to your
mainpage is placed under the appropriate listing. THIS IS RECOMMENDED.
Why do you add a maximum of only 5 sections for multiple celebrity websites?
The listing is mainly for true fansites - those sites created by individuals who devote their time
and attention to creating something that shows their adoration towards a certain person or group. Although
many people admire more than one celebrity, multiple celebrity websites means less commitment and it usually
shows. The focus should be on those fans that create sites for someone they really admire, not just a bunch
of "babes" they like. This is why multiple celebrity websites can only have a maximum of 5 sections
listed and are usually in a lower position. Of course, there are some exceptions. Some multiple
celebrity websites show great care and attention in every celebrity they list, so we position it higher.
Or a multiple celebrity website sends us more hits, so we also position it a bit higher.
But what if my favourite celebrity deserves to be added?
Then tell me about it! Email me,
and I will look into it. If there is sufficient material on her, I will gladly add her. Please note that
adding a new celebrity takes some time, so don't get upset if I reply saying she will be
added and not seeing a listing of her the next day. It takes me a while to gather all the material
so please be patient.
Why is your site so slow?
Okay, famousbabes is running on a dedicated server with multiple scsi hard drives. 90% of the time,
any slowness in download or access speeds you may be experiencing, is caused not by our hardware or the
server's connection to the internet, but how requests signals are routed between your ISP and the server.
Granted, there are times when the server is overloaded (which it has been when the server was attacked
by malicious individuals), but the equipment is more than adequate to handle 5 times the amount of
traffic the site gets now.
"So what about that 90%?" you might ask. Well, one of the most common misconceptions about internet
access is that it truly is an internet superhighway for information, and that you access information
directly from the source. That is not true. This assumption is often made by new internet users or users
who never bothered to read any information on the basics of how the internet works(which is almost always
summarized in your ISP's "getting started" guide).
Here is how information is retrieved from websites: you click a link, that request is sent to your ISP's main
routers, which then gets sent to another router, then another, than another, than another, than the server. The
server replies and the information is sent through all those previous routers before reaching you. The internet
is a collection of computers, each with multiple connections so that if one computer goes down, there is always
another route the information can take, thereby ensuring the stability of the whole system. In other words, your
ISP doesn't have a direct connection to ALL the servers. It can't. With millions of webservers,
that would be nearly impossible. Instead, it goes through other computers or "middlemen".
Also, those "middlemen" don't necessarily have the same hardware your ISP does nor the same bandwidth capabilities. They
might have inferior equipment so processing your request takes a longer amount of time.
Here is a really easy to understand analogy: Let's say the internet was your city and each webserver was a
building in your city. Now, let's say the fibre optic cables of the internet are the city streets. Remember, no
building has a direct connection to every building so there are no highways in this city. You live on the west
side, but you have to go to a building on the east side. That means you have to go along all those
city streets with all those redlights and stop signs. If that wasn't enough, some streets have less lanes and
are used by more people so traffic slows down to a crawl on those streets. Or an intersection is blocked so you have
to take a different route which takes a longer amount of time before you reach that building on the east side. Now
let's say a broadband connection is a ferrari and regular dialup is a Honda Civic (non modified). You drive the ferrari,
but because of the city streets, it still takes you quite some time to reach the east side. Sure, you get there faster
than you can in the Civic, but you can't do the maximum since you have to go through all those city streets. Is it the
building's(webserver) fault it took so long for you to reach it? Of course not, but because of the location, you had to
go a farther distance and drive for a longer amount of time. If the building was closer to where you live, it would be a shorter drive.
That is how information is passed along on the internet.
Can you email me pictures?
Unfortunately I cannot. All the pictures I have are available on the website for you to
download immediately.
Can I email you pictures you don't have?
I would prefer that you do not. It's not that I don't appreciate the gesture. In fact, I'm
greatly honoured that you would take the time to do so. But fortunately, I don't need new pictures.
I have my sources and I will update galleries whenever I have enough pictures to do so. But
thanks for the offer.
Why not zip all the pictures for easier download?
Main reason: Then the cool layout I created is never viewed. Just kidding. Pictures
are not zipped because the demand for packaged collections isn't that great. Zip files
of the entire collection would take up unnecessary space and bandwidth. It's either zips, or
individual pictures. We've chosen the latter because most people only want a few pics here
and there, not the entire collection.
Can I use your pictures?
The pictures I showcase are not mine. They were gathered from various sources from the
internet and deemed publicly viewable. I don't know the copyright owners of many
of the photos. If you like to use some photos for your own fansite, that is perfectly
fine with me so long as you download them and host them on your own servers, ie, not directly linking
to our pictures. But if you plan to use them on a merchandise or business venture, then
you must find out the copyright owner (usually the photographer) and obtain permission.
I own the rights to a certain picture. Can you remove it from your site?
Certainly. If you own the rights to a certain picture(s) and do not want it
on my site, email me and
I will remove it immediately. Note: you scanning a picture doesn't mean you
own the photo. The original photographer is usually the copyright owner.
Would you be interested in a link exchange?
I'm always interested in swapping links with great websites who need more exposure, no matter
how little it is. However, I mainly exchange only with celebrity-related websites. If you
have a great site that needs some hits, let me know and I'll take a look at it. I'll add you to the
Other Sites Section to start. If enough hits are generated between
our sites, you may qualify to go on my top ten. However, I do not do banner exchanges, only
text links.
Who are your favourites?
For actresses, no one beats Audrey Hepburn. Many of you might not remember her, but she
was a very popular actress back in the golden days of Hollywood. She starred in such films as
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "My Fair Lady". She had beauty and grace. Second would be
Jane Seymour. She's a wonderful actress, and stunningly beautiful in every age. If Dick Clark
doesn't age, neither does Jane Seymour. Third goes to Shania Twain.
She is by far the best looking woman I've ever seen(when comparing all factors) and her songs are so much fun. Her husband, Robert John
"Mutt" Lange, is the luckiest man in the world in my opinion.
